The Night Ledger
Going offline is not a number that appears after eight hours. It is a night that happened, with witnesses. This is the game's signature.
Every night is simulated hour by hour. In the morning you read it as a narrative written in the creditor's voice: what the wind did at 21:47, what Krasue dragged home at 23:03, when the oil ran low, who did not come back. Losses are characters in the story, not a red number in a corner.
NIGHT LEDGER — NIGHT 41
18:00 The flame burns quietly.
21:47 Wind slips through the window shutter. The flame gutters, then steadies.
23:03 Krasue returns heavy-handed. Good hunting tonight.
02:15 A flashlight sweeps the yard. Every spirit stops counting.
04:50 The oil runs low. The flame shrinks to a bead.
06:00 Dawn. The contract holds. Barely.

Why it matters
Idle games usually reward you with a number. THE FAUST rewards you with a story you were not there to see. The Ledger is also the game's fairness receipt: every drop, every loss, every event in it maps to a rule you can read in this document. Nothing is hidden behind a random box opening.
