The Vigil Loop

One candle. One night per account per day. The game runs on your own clock, and it bends around your life, not the reverse.

The 24-hour day

06:00 ── DAY WATCH ── 18:00 ── NIGHT ── 06:00 DAY WATCH NIGHT yield ×0.25 · burn ×0.25 full yield · full burn no events · no drops events active (danger = density) no Soul · no Offering drops at dawn · Soul from survived events auto-relight toggle candle-out risk · spirit loss risk

Night (18:00 – 06:00 local)

The candle burns at full strength and spirits work. Events happen while you sleep or watch. Everything valuable flows from the night: Pip, materials, and Soul contribution come only from hours actually survived.

Day (06:00 – 18:00 local)

The world of the living. You read last night's Ledger, visit the Cave to summon spirits at The Procession, shop, upgrade the fire, and plan tonight. If you cannot let go of the candle, you may relit it through the day, but everything is scaled to a quarter: quarter yield, quarter burn, no events, no drops, no risk.

Miss a night? Nothing happens

Missed nights are not punished. The Ledger simply reads darker the next morning, as narrative. There are no streaks, no FOMO timers, no guilt mechanics. Timezone is per player and handled server-side.

Playing the night itself

You do not have to sleep through it. When you watch the night live, you act through three verbs: HOLD the flame to shield it, TAP in rhythm with events, and DRAG to move the candle or vessel. Four events telegraph before they strike: Wind, Rain, Patrol, and Shaman. The harder your fire tier burns, the denser the night becomes. Failure costs a little, never everything. Soul contribution is earned from events survived.
